Cake Wrecks

To give credit where credit is due, sister #1 posted this on Facebook yesterday and it was so hysterical that it was worth sharing. We've all seen them... The sweet little creatures the local bakery has decimated with their piping bags and decorative tips. But now someone has dedicated a blog to them, and it's right on par with People of Walmart, People of the Park, and Awkward Family Photo's. All I know is if Martha saw these cakes it would surely send her to an early grave!

Blog Spotlight: Licked Toys Graveyard

While I do realize this site sounds a little perverse, it's a must see for all my dog-loving friends. Citing itself as "the world's first dog toy graveyard (tm)," you will be howling with laughter when you see what some of these naughty canines have gotten themselves into. And oh, the look of shame on their faces!!

Blog Spotlight: Slave to Target

Still not back into the blogging groove but I got to thinking today (I know, right? STOP the presses) and I have a feeling you like Target as much as I do (pronounced in my circle, in the French vernacular as Tar-jhay).

However, this lady? She is a Slave to Target. Check her out.

Blog Spotlight: Post Secret

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I know some you probably already know about this fabulously creative blog called Post Secret, but I'm pretty new to the world of snail mail secrets and I must say I love it. It's become a Monday morning indulgence for me, but not even just an indulgence. That really isn't a fair description and now I'm full of regret I just used that word. But let's power on just the same. It's such an awesome concept, and obviously popular too, for it to be ranked the 9th most popular blog around. And seriously? That's impressive given how many blogs there are out there (read a little Perez lately, anyone?)

For those of you that don't know, Post Secret is a blog that has a mail address in Maryland. And the idea is that people from all around the world, send their deepest darkest secrets on a creatively decorated post-card ANONYMOUSLY. The coolest part about this is the anonymous part, because it really lets people fell like they can share their secrets while still keeping it. Does that make any sense? In their own words, You are invited to anonymously contribute your secrets to PostSecret. Each secret can be a hope, regret, funny experience, unseen kindness, fantasy, belief, fear, betrayal, erotic desire, confession, or childhood humiliation. Reveal anything - as long as it is true and you have never shared it with anyone before.

Pretty cool, right? The secrets are updated every Sunday night when Frank (the proprietor) makes his selection of the secrets for the week. Check it out and I promise you won't be sorry. You'll laugh, cry, shake your head in agreement, sometimes feel a little better about yourself, and sometimes a little worse. It is the most honest blog out there and I for one, can't wait to pick up the book.

Buh Bye Blogroll

You might have noticed that I deleted my blogroll. But before you start telling me how rude that is, please let me explain. Last week I did my first Blog Spotlight and I got some great responses. Everyone really seemed to enjoy my new blog find and I was happy to open the door to Ashley’s Closet (and sarcasm) to the rest of you. So anyway, my blogroll was in dire need of being updated and truly, it is just too much for me to keep up with. This summer is proving to be a very busy summer for me with lots going on and as much as I really wish I could continuously update my blogroll, I really can’t. Let’s face it. I’m lucky to have on 2 matching flip flops these days, let alone update my blogroll on a weekly basis.

Aside from the constant updating of the blogroll, I also realized that we pretty much all have the exact same blogroll anyway. Seriously. If you don’t believe me then go check out 5 blogrolls of self confessed preps (and when you return after checking them out I’ll be happy to tell you “I told you so” because being the youngest of 3 girls means I can sorta be a brat like that sometimes). Don't get me wrong. This is great that we all support eachothers blogs and link up to eachother, but I thought it might be fun to do something a little different.

I really and truly appreciate all of my readers and all the other bloggers who include me on their daily reads and blogrolls and I will continue to link to you in one way or another, Girl Scouts promise! And I know you all see me out there reading and commenting so I hope you know I am certainly reciprocating. So in lieu of the blogroll which we’ve all memorized by now, I decided it would be much more fun to continue with the Blog Spotlight.

The Blog Spotlight will shine the light on a new, fun, and fresh blog that I will search out. It might be a blog you already visit on a daily basis that happens to be throwing out some great posts, or it may be a totally new *undiscovered* blog by our little blog community of preppy pink and green bloggers. Now don’t worry. I won’t be spotlighting any Black Sabbath blogs (or, dare I say it, anti-celebrity gossip or anti-Martha blogs) or anything, but I think this will be a fun way to find and share some other great bloggers that are somewhere out there, just waiting to entertain us.

So what do you think? Yeah or Neigh?

Blog Spotlight: Ashley's Closet

Don't get too excited. I'm still hobbling around here, most definitely not motivated to blog yet. But in the mean time, if you are looking for some entertainment, you really have to check out Ashley's Closet. Well, I don't mean literally find a chick named Ashley and walk in her closet, but you know, check out the blog Ashley's Closet. Ashley and I frequent the same Baby Message Board so she found me via a post I made on that one day. After she started her own blog and started leaving LOL comments on my blog, I followed her trail of bread crumbs back to her closet. And the rest is history.
