Meet Monogram Momma & See Martha in Person!

Yep! That's right! you read that correctly, folks! I know I'm still on my little blogging break, but some things are just far too good not to share, especially when Martha is concerned!

Late Friday afternoon, BFF, Ashley called me with the most fabulous news. Seriously, if I was the 4th string quarterback, I was just called into the game to start. That is how good this is! Anyway, Ashley has been determined to get me to and/or on Martha's show for pretty much forever. I always just roll my eyes at this though because some dreams you just never think will happen. Boy was I wrong! Knowing Ashley for 20 years like I do, I should have know though that she wouldn't stop harassing the lovely people at MSLO until she got her way. ;-)

I will spare you all the sordid details and multiple phone calls, emails and conversations that took place, but suffice-to-say, Monogram Momma & Friends have been invited to join Martha Stewart at her taping next month for her September 25th show!

So here's the deal. As a thank you to all my supportive, encouraging, and enthusiastic Martha-loving readers, I would love to offer our last ticket to a Monogram Momma reader. If you live in the Tri-State area or are able or willing to drop everything and head to New York for about 36 hours for a once-in-a-lifetime Martha experience Sept 24th-25th, then keep reading!

If you meet the above criteria (and understand that you are responsible for your own travel accommodations), then email me pictures of your Martha and/or Monogram Momma completed projects. Those who send in photo's will have their handiwork displayed on a storyboard here at Monogram Mommas, anonymously (because you know I am all about equality here and I'm not going to encourage any cliques). Readers will then vote on their favorite storyboard of projects, and the person with the most votes will get to meet Monogram Momma and Friends and join us for the Martha Stewart Show and drinks following the show.

If you want to participate in the contest, then start taking those digital pictures of your fabulously preppy projects and email them all to me at monogrammomma@charter.net

The road to Martha's show starts right here, right now
for one creative Monogram Momma reader!
P.S. I'm still on my blogging hiatus but check back next week for the voting and more Martha news!

Just popping in to say hi and WOW! Have a fantastic time at the show - can't wait to hear all about it!!

I'm headed to Paula Deen in Sept. - we'll have to compare show stories when I get back :-)

Monogram Momma said...

Thanks, guys! I can't WAIT to go! Obviously just GOING and sitting there is going to be the hugest deal for me, I can't even tell you! Ashley keeps hearing from the nice coordinator over there and they are calling our group "The Monogram Mommas"! ;-)

Anna Bella: We are supposed to be going to Paula as well this fall! My dad has a connection for us but we can't go in Sept so I'm waiting for the rest of the taping schedule so Ashley can fly down for the show. We're planning on making a weekend of it w/ our moms. It should be so fun! You'll HAVE to email me all about Paula's show!

Everyone keeps congratulating you about being on the show and all. I am confused. Is the contest to be ON the show with you or are you just going to a taping and have a ticket? Do you want us to email our storyboard idea or link to a site (like Flicker) we could post it on. THANKS mucho and love your tees.

Muffin: There seems to be some unintentional confusion so let me clarify. Ashley is the one who is making this all happen and has been dealing w/ the coordinator at MSLO via phone and email and relaying things to me. What she told me, that this woman told her, was that they prefer to invite special interest groups to the show and they were interested in the Monogram Momma *story*, about mine and Ashley's history together (she must have put that in her emails to them), the projects we've done, etc... She (ashley)said my blog had become a sort of meeting place for people who like Martha-type projects and ideas (from decorating to cooking to crafting, sewing, etc). They had a few conversations going back and forth with this lady wanting more information about us until she was finally called back and told we were invited to come to the show. So Ashley asked if we were going to be ON stage w/ Martha and she said no, they wanted a group of MM readers and crafters, and that Martha is always told ahead of each show of the groups that were invited to come. Many times she will point out and mention these groups and they are shown. For instance one day a reader caught her greeting the "Atlanta Crafters" and commented here asking if I was there. Didn't I wish?!

Anyway, For me, I just don't even care! The fact that I'm GOING to Martha and they called to invite us (they are calling our group "The Monogram Momma's") and have read all through my blog and my own projects and so forth is just really cool to me (Ashley asked if she'd read my blog)! Sitting there Live will be the biggest treat, I just can't even wait!

We were offered 6 tickets but they were nice enough to give us 2 more so I could have a ticket for a reader if someone was able/willing to make it. The lady said the show going to be great that day and very "hush hush" but did say it had something to do with sewing. So we've basically been driving ourselves crazy trying to figure out what that means and who's going to be on it!!!

Thanks for your excitement and I can't wait to get your pictures! Just email them to me directly; don't worry about uploading them to Flickr or anything.

So, other than your wedding day and the births of the minis, this has to be like the BEST DAY EVER, right? How fun! I wish I could be the lucky one to go with you. The part about drinks afterward sounds the best :P)

Thanks for the info! Everyone was congratulating you on being on Martha etc and I just got excited then confused(they can con exist). I know they like groups to come and have that on line when you reserve tickets at their website. They're taking requests for the fall now in case anyone else would like to book for Sept or Oct. My Mom's quilt group is going to go in Oct and see some quilt exhibit while in the city. Fall in NYC is so great. I will try and organize my entry. and hope I can photoshop out any hot glue threads!

This is very exciting! Congratulations! I will be sure to catch that show. I go to FIT, and my dorm was on the same block as Martha, so I looked out my window everyday to marthas building and a HUGE martha billboard. it was amazing. I attended three tapings during last school year and it was so much fun! You are going to love it!

Also I don't know how familiar with New York you are, but if you want any suggestions of things to see/do or good fabric shopping or what not I can give you some suggestions.
